June 2008 Volume 41 Issue 6

God bless America, land
that I love,
Stand beside her, and
guide her, through the
night, with the light from
above,
From the mountains to
the prairies to the oceans,
white with foam
God bless America, my
home sweet home, God
Bless America! My
Home Sweet Home!
Bet you couldn’t read it
without singing it! As it

should be.
You have to love a nation
that celebrates its independence
every July 4, not
with a parade of guns,
tanks, and soldiers who
file by the White House
in a show of strength and
muscle, but with family
picnics where kids throw
Frisbees, the potato salad
gets iffy, and the flies die
from happiness. You may
think you have overeaten,
but it is Patriotism—
Erma Bombeck.
On this
day particularly
we want to honor and keep in
our prayers all the men and
women in our Armed Forces
and their families, now, and
those in the past who have
sacrificed so much.
Fly your Flag proudly and
honor all those who have
given their lives so that you
can.
GOD BLESS
AMERICA

In memory of
William P. “Bill” Greene, 74, passed away on Sunday,
June 29 at Community Hospice McGraw Center. He
retired in 1991 from the City of Jacksonville as a
Supervisor in Mechanical Inspection.

June Presidents Perspective:

We are half way through 2008 and the weather has been cooperating with us. I hope everyone's business is beginning to
pick up and the economy isn’t having a bad effect.
I know that gas prices are out of control and there looks as if things are going to continue to get worse over the rest of
the summer. If anyone has any good ideas about how to make the most our of this bad situation, please share your ideas
with the association.
Remember we are not having any meetings over the next couple of months. We are having a golf tournament in September
and the Trade Show is going to be in October. Be sure to help support the association in these events. It takes
events like these to run a growing association.
I met with FCCJ a couple of weeks ago and they have a program called Community Based Job Training. They have received
a grant from the State to help give someone paid tuition for selected construction and building trades. If you
know anyone looking for an opportunity to get a two-year college degree this is something they might want to look into.
If they are interested, please have them contact Daryl High at 357-8947 for more information.
